Our empty nest has never been completely empty, but with 2 kids in college and one recent graduate back home we often think about our next “move”.
My husband would like to retire on a lake. I would love to live in a loft downtown.
For now we will “meet in the middle” in the suburban house we have lived in for 12 years and have plenty of room for me to create and the kids to come and go.
In the meantime, it’s time to look at some maintenance and upgrades we can start in order to make our move easier when the time comes.
Starting at the front door and working my way through the house, room by room.
Oh my goodness, Sharon! I am in the same state of life: two kids in college, one recently graduated and moved home. I have another older one out on her own. I found your blog because I was looking for directions on how you made the burlap/flower material pillows. We recently put a roof on our deck and I have been having fun crafting comforts for it. I am down to the last couple of weeks at home. I am a teacher and must return to school soon! 🙂
I plan to subscribe to your blog. Have a terrific day!
Thanks Tina! My fave website for outdoor fabric is http://www.fabricguru.com if you are looking for fun affordable outdoor fabric. Enjoy the rest of your summer. I hope you and everyone in your family has a good school year. My daughter who just graduated in May starts teaching Kindergarten in September!
